Terms & conditions

Terms and conditions

This section outlines the terms and conditions of the courses and activities provided by Easy Italian Courses (hereinafter “EIC”). By making the payment and booking a course, the Client expressly accepts such terms and conditions.

  1. Courses

The planning and organisation of the course shall be agreed between EIC and the Client. Lessons will be normally scheduled after an initial email contact with EIC on the basis of student’s and teacher’s availabilities. Normally lessons are held on the same weekly day(s).

Payment for the specific chosen course shall be made in advance through the accepted means of payment (see point 2).  The course shall not begin or take place if the payment has not been made for the full amount, and the contract between EIC and the Client is deemed not concluded.

For Students under 18 years old, written authorization by Parents or Guardian is necessary to be able to register and attend a course. EIC may enter into specific framework agreements with Companies aiming at purchasing different courses for their staff/employees over a certain time period.

Lessons will be delivered online and the duration of each lesson is stated in the relevant course description in this website (normally 60 minutes per lesson, except ATTACCABOTTONE Course which has a different duration). Online lessons will be delivered through the specific IT platforms chosen by EIC and communicated to the Client. Lessons will follow a communicative approach using interactive materials. Although all courses are offered online, upon request of the Client the course may be delivered in person (in such a case the price will be higher than the online course and specifically agreed by the Parties).

Lessons do not take place on Italian National or Bank Holidays (unless bilaterally agreed otherwise between EIC and the Client). EIC has the ability to replace at any moment the teacher assigned to the course and to cancel the whole course and withdraw from any prior engagement with three days prior notice to the Client.

Cancellation policy. Once the lesson has been scheduled, the Client has the ability to cancel or agree with the teacher the re-scheduling of the lesson, with prior written notice of at least 24 hours. If the lesson has not been cancelled or re-scheduled and the Client does not show-up (or is late) such lesson shall be considered as actually completed.

After having made the payment and before starting the lessons, the Client has the ability to cancel the whole course for whatever reason. If such cancellation is communicated  to EIC more than 15 days prior to the beginning of the course, EIC will reimburse the paid amount minus 15% which will not be reimbursed. In case the cancellation is communicated less than 15 days prior to the beginning of the course, EIC will retain 30% of the paid amount. The Client has also the ability to suspend the course for whatever reason, however if the course is not completed within six months from its actual start date, the course will be automatically terminated at the expiry of 6 months, without the need for further communication by EIC to the Client.

Test and certification. Upon request of the Student, the teacher may perform a level test, in order to assess the level of knowledge of Italian language and choose the most adequate course. Such level test may be performed during the first lesson and is free of charge for the Student.

At the end of the course, upon request of the Student, EIC shall deliver free of charge an EIC certification of attendance with the final language level achieved. Such certification shall be delivered if the student has attended at least 70% of the lessons.

Collective courses. EIC can also deliver collective (group) courses, provided that the students are of the same language level, as ascertained by the assigned teacher. Groups shall not exceed [five] Students. In case a Student, for whatever reason, does not participate to one or more scheduled lessons, no reimbursement for the missed lesson is foreseen, nor such student will be entitled to re-schedule the missed lesson(s).

Learning materials. Students shall use their own IT devices to attend the lessons and use the IT platform suggested by the teacher. In case the teacher requests the Student to purchase a book to use during the course, the purchase of the book will be ensured by the Student at his/her own expenses. Any specific material which may be provided by the teacher will be separately paid by the Student. Such material is property of EIC and cannot be disclosed by the Client to third parties without the prior written consent of the teacher (please also refer to point 4).

  1. Payment

Payment shall be made through bank transfer (IBAN number will be separately provided by EIC to the Client in order to make the payment and book the relevant Course) or through[ credit card payment or] Paypal directly on the website. Any bank expenses will be borne by the Client. After the payment is made in full the Client shall plan the beginning of the lessons with EIC.

  1. Prices of the lessons

Since Clients normally book their Italian Courses with EIC months in advance, prices and promotions shown on the website may change overtime and may differ from the price paid by the Client at the time of the booking.  Therefore, if at the date the Course begins the prices are lower than the price paid by the Client when the booking was made, the latter is not entitled to request the application of such lower price. EIC also retains the right to modify over time other aspects of its courses and activities (e.g. discount policy, planning, type of courses or other activities offered to Clients, teachers, number of participants to Group courses, and other details), therefore the Client’s rights are those existing at the time the booking was made. Books and specific learning materials may be used at the discretion of the teacher. In any case costs shall not include text books, other learning materials or the fee to be paid for any external exam.

Discounts. For promotional reasons, EIC may offer specific discounts in certain periods of the year or to certain categories of Clients (such as for example University students). Prospective Clients should therefore refer to the specific promotions available from time to time on the EIC website at the time they intend to book a course. Any discount is at the total discretion of EIC.

  1. Copyright and privacy

Students acknowledge that the courses and materials which may be provided by the teacher, at his/her discretion, are the exclusive property of EIC. The Client commits not to make copies of such materials and distribute copies (paper or digital) to third parties and not use such materials for Italian courses provided by third parties different than EIC.

The Client expressly authorises EIC to include his/her personal data in EIC’s archives for administrative purposes. Online courses could be recorded by EIC for quality control reasons. The Client shall not make audio/video recording of the lessons. Data provided to EIC will be treated manually and electronically, in compliance with applicable laws, in particular Regulation UE 2016/679 (GDPR).

  1. General terms

The present terms and conditions prevail over any other provision oral or written agreed with the Client. The Client accepts the present terms and conditions, which are under Italian Law. In case of any controversy, the parties recognise the exclusive competence of the Court of Milan, Italy.
